Although the initial investment in a unit like this may be higher, the system will pay off over time.

Use your windows to your advantage. Consider purchasing solar curtains to better maintain the heating and cooling of your home. When the sun shines, pull the curtains to the side and allow the natural warmth to enter. Even a few degrees of extra warmth make an enormous difference in your electric bill.
